China to Mark National Water Week
A series of activities will be held across China to mark the country's 33rd National Water Week on March 22-28 and to celebrate the 28th World Water Day which falls on Sunday, March 22, according to China's Ministry of Water Resources.
With the theme of "Upholding the Priority of Water Conservation and Managing Rivers and Lakes to Benefit People," the campaign this year aims to further act on national plans for water conservation, implement the system of river and lake chiefs, stress the management of rivers and lakes to improve people's livelihoods, and promote the establishment of good social traditions with rising public awareness of preservation of water resources.
The Ministry of Water Resources announced that it will sponsor a number of promotional activities, including the release of themed posters, public-service ads, cultural and creative products and online quizzes. It will also collect original songs and charity videos in praise of water conservation in a drive to focus the attention of more people on it and enhance public participation in the week-long campaign.
